Paul Costello SS 2012

Paul Costelloe described his SS12 collection as a celebration of the strong female silhouette. Through a soft colour palette – a hybrid of corals pinks and mint greens, peppered with paisley prints – structured feminine shapes and an air of innocent vintage Parisian romance, the London Fashion Week collection was just that. Using the Hollywood classic 'What Ever Happened to Baby Jane' as the inspiration for his SS12 range, the collection was young, fresh, playful and with a modern edge.

The pieces all seemed to have a quirky exaggerated element – oversized pleat sleeves, voluminous ruffle necks and almost balloon like shoulders seemed to be a quietly mischievous nod to Alice in Wonderland.
