Zoe and Rosie at the MET GALA awards 2014 in New York

We are still recovering from the MET Gala awards and still stunned by some of the creative designs which were on display along that very long red carpet. Our attention turns to Zoe Saldana who turned up at this year’s Costume Institute benefit Gala in a very long Michael Kors gown, and with the designer himself as her date on her arm. The gown from the waist down was a billowy, lampshade-shaped design with paisley patterns and soft contours. The top part of the gown was fabulously elegant; a halter top design with a plunging neckline, Zoe has great arms so the top part of the gown really helped us to focus on her perfect limbs.

Zoe speaks fluent Spanish and English and often speaks of her pride in being from a Latin culture. She grew up in the Dominican Republic with her Puerto Rican mother but also has Haitian roots. Zoe is a real mover and shaker on the dancefloor. She studied ballet, Latin dance and modern Jazz both in the Spanish-speaking Caribbean and New York. Zoe is now married to ex-professional football player turned artist Marco Perego from Italy. You can't go wrong with a good sportsman with artistic flair from humble beginnings - the perfect combo.

Another stunning lady in a 'stand out from the crowd' outfit caught our attention. British model and budding actress, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The Devon-born beauty turned up at the awards this year in a leather and gold dress with leopard print embellishments, she also sported dramatic hoop earrings, sleek straight tresses and nude nails. Rosie was certainly the 'Golden Child' on the night. Her Balmain gladiator heels gave her look some much needed edginess breaking the tradition of  Gala gownery.

Rosie grew up on a farm and apparently was bullied at school for her full, sensual lips. She is a UK size 6 (gasp !) and due to star in the film Mad Max fury due for release in 2015. After the  MET Gala after-party she flew straight to Shanghai for a photo shoot, hopefully she watched all the previous Mad Max films in-flight. Well it is a long flight!
