Let's face it we always look forward to the Cannes film festival each year and dream about the French Riviera. I went to Cannes once just before the film festival but it was only to watch my friend play in a football match. He played for Cannes FC at the time. As a location it has improved its appeal and is quite groovy; drawing on wider audiences and visitors.
The EDM band Major Lazer performed at Cannes in 2012 (or maybe it was last year). Cannes is no longer a hub for older wealthy European men with perma-tans and Armani suits and gorgeous, budding actresses from all over the globe. This year was the 67th Cannes film festival, what remarkable longevity.
Our team at FashionThirst were particularly impressed by gorgeous red hed Julianne Moore. Her dress stunned the crowds when she arrived at the premiere of her latest film Maps to the Stars.
Julianne turned up on the red carpet in a 1920s style feather embellished Organza Chanel dress which had sewn on white pearls and dainty shimmering sequins. The marvellous gown has small hand-holder pockets which seems to be a recurring theme throughout, for gowns in 2014.
Mini pockets are great for striking memorable poses. We loved the dinky Chopard earrings and the flashy Louboutin footwear. She looked fabulous and as the saying goes 'a girl without freckles is like a night sky without stars'. Julianne's look on the night got the thumbs up from FashionThirst.
