Haute Couture fashion week in Paris came to an end this week. It was spectacular and exhibitionist. Talk of the town was Gaultier's unconventional mode/focus on Papillion fused punk outfits. His collection was enourmously popular. The 2014 range was comprised of corsets with butterfly wings, denim vests with bejewelled spiky crystals and leather biker jackets come bustiers trimmed with custom and patch-worked Swarowski studding.

Gaultier transformed the catwalk into a butterfly sanctuary it felt like London' s tropical section of Kew Gardens in the summer. Butterfly-wings peaked from the model' shoulders, high-waisted tuxedos and mermaid skirts received rounds of applause.  Dita Von Tesse modeled some of his insect-winged outfits. The palette was exciting and varied; an array of plums to teal blue and black glossy leather. Au revoir Paris we are now heading towards the Big Ben clock. London Fashion week is around the corner.
