Freemasons hall was lit up on Saturday by the futuristic designer favoured by Lady Gaga. And Gaga it was. Horned wigs, feathers and pearls were amongst the vivid, wacky collection.
Inspired by classic art and futuristic myth the contrast in the traditional printed silks with the sci-fi is rich and at times absurd. In a break from the fresh Spring pastels seen in other SS15 collections, Dora Adobi uses a rich palette of metallic royal blue, antique gold, champagne silver, and transparent black and white.
Fabrics used include custom print silks, hand cut-out leather, pearls, beads and cabochons, silk organza, metallic gold lame, jacquard and embroidery. The signature symbol, The Twin Unisus appears within the prints, embroideries and hand embellished ornaments upon varnished leather.
