It's been a very exciting time for London over the last couple of months many premiere films being launched at red carpet events and finally the famous Victoria Secrets fashion show came to our awesome city on Tuesday. The show was held in Earls Court and the main highlight was the appearance of two significant models from Brazil.

Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio traversed along the catwalk side by side in Mouawad-designed, Arabesque Angel Fantasy bras. The bras are estimated to be worth $2 million dollars. Mouawad, a jeweler designer by trade apparently used 16,000 rubies, diamonds and sapphires which were connected by using 18 karat gold. The ornate and opulent ensembles took the designers more than 1,380 hours to create. Craftmanship at its best ! I wonder if Shakira from neighbouring Columbia was in town ? If so, she surely would have taken to the catwalk and provided a few shimmy-type moves encouraging Ed Sheeran to join in.

Rochas SS15 collection ticked all of the boxes this season, making this ready-to-wear body of work one to keep a firm, fixed eye on. Mixing texture? Check. Found in sheer, light as air fabrics clashed with heavier embroidery and delicate silk. Merging trends? Check. Pretty, feminine shapes, floaty skirts and blouses toughened up with sharp collars and R emblems for a sport luxe edge. Risk appeal? Check. The bodices were very, very sheer.
Described by the designer himself, this collection was rather “mix and match”, yet it surprisingly worked effortlessly. The models floated down the Paris runway, beautifully elegant but sophisticated and powerful. With floor length gowns, waist synching kimonos and innocent sheer panelling strengthened by unexpected sports socks and belts. Lace, stripe and incredible detailing were all present in this world wind collection of feminine sex appeal - in the most innocent of ways.

A neutral palette kept things muted and on point, but the pops of gold glistening against solid black tulle petticoats, and almost iridescent white macs reminded us all that this is fashion at it’s most exciting. When things that shouldn't work, work, you know you’ve done well.
Thumbs up Rochas, thumbs up.

On the illuminated modern floors in the heart of the Cour Carree of the Louvre, Raf Simons for Christian Dior shows his modern take on 18th Century style.
Using both men and women’s styles as his muse, he revamps them into sleek, feminine pieces. Whilst drawing on the 18th Century trend for whale bone skirts, a the 2015 version is rounded, with the thickness of the fabric creating a bubble outline.
Other pieces took inspiration from men’s wear and riding coats, with leather trench jackets, and floral skirt dresses.

Glance southwards and you will see models wearing the Dior “sock boots”. This unusual footwear consists of heeled boots worn under grandadesque men’s socks, looking more country-posh than the usual glamour of Dior. As the trendsetter Dior is, we can expect to see these wooly quirks everywhere come 2015.

Inspired by street wear, hip-hop culture and – rather surprisingly – graffiti, Barbara Bui’s SS15 collection is a tribute to cultural mix.
In an unusual combination of inspiration, slouchy trousers, draped dresses and skirts, oversized blazers and structured jackets reference Buddhist monks and spirituality on one hand and tough street culture on the other. While the hand-patched embroidery seen on trousers, jackets and blazers is obviously drawn from Ancient Indian culture, the graffiti tag inspiration behind the embroidery is much more subtle.

The intricate mirror embroidery and pops of bright orange added a lively splash of colour to the designer’s usual monochromatic look and contrast the simple colour palette of the rest of the collection. All-white pieces in particular highlight Bui’s technical skills and her elaborate tailoring and draping.
Once again, flats were favoured over stilettos as pointy-toed brogues in metallic hues gave a laid-back vibe to the collection.

Italian brand Etro showcased its colourful boho collection for SS15 at Milan Fashion Week. Tassled kaftans, waistcoats and dresses are brightly patterned with geometric shapes, bringing a Native American edge to the runway.

Despite the busyness of prints and textures, the neutral bases of whites, sky blues and beige to the collection keeps it fresh and crisp for the spring wardrobe.
As always with this Italian designer, more is more. Layered necklaces of sharks teeth, feathers and beads add to the hippy vibe and complement the details of the outfits.
