This year's John Rocha collection at London Fashion Week rendered surprise, intrigue, femininity and minimalism. Our press team were in awe of his consistent capacity to evolve. This established designer presented a wonderful and sobering palette of vivid reds, explosive fuschia and nuanced violet colours. His delicate floral prints and romantic hand-sculpted, bloomed petals had been carefully placed on several lightweight white fabrics of bell-skirted shapes. The giant, flower-splashed skirts dazzled the crowds seated in all the rows. I particularly liked the way the leaner silhouettes morphed in to a creative, elegant sense of pulls, expansion and swirls.
As the models paraded on the runway there were several isolated bursts of ruby embroideries; clashing dark purples and acidic sherbet yellows, the catwalk was lit up with colour. The collection's hemlines were long and flowing but simple. The detail was minimal. Rocha never ceases to amaze us with something unexpected and unique.
