Dressed in dapper suits inspired by 70s soul movement Northern Soul, dancers skated, back-dropped and kick-spinned onto the catwalk to show the collaborative “contemporary sportswear” collection between Nutters of Savile Row and Peter Werth.

The collection combines wide legged and slim fit trousers with skinny fitting shirts, short sleeved pull-overs, buttoned up cardigans, double breasted blazers and fur-collared jackets. The outfits mix tones of greys with muted blues and warm reds.

True to the heyday of Nutters, when Tommy Nutter was dubbed the rebel of Savile Row, the collection rebels against conventional takes on the suit, with billowing bow ties, and ankle skimming skinny trousers showing off contrasting blue or red socks. Suited models/ dancers took full advantage of their wide legged trousers to show off their flexibility and Northern Soul dance moves, influenced by black American soul music and the Motown scene.

The collaboration was initiated due to the designers’ joint involvement in the wardrobe for Elaine Constantine’s film “Northern Soul”, set in 1975 which will be released this Spring.

Other than the 70s music scene, the collection incorporates the heritage of the two designers. Nutter’s over scaled Prince of Wales, hounds-tooth and windowpane check designs work alongside jersey knitted shirts and blazers which reflect Werth’s past as a knitwear designer.

In the above picture a red blazer displays Nutters of Savile Row’s statement gargantuan lapels and roped shoulders. The soft blue window pane checked cardigan adds an element of Geek chic, drawing attention to the blue in the socks and the red of the tie and blazer. The lace-up boots complete the outfit giving it a twist of public-school-boy-gone-bad.

So many excited fans turned up to the Royal Premiere of the Hobbit on Thursday night gone. Many die-hard fans braved the cold to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. The FashionThirst team's attention was taken by Australian Cate Blanchett who stars in this tale of an unexpected journey in to London. Cate sported a long-sleeved, plain column, high, turtle-necked white Givenchy gown with fitted waist, bell sleeves,  gold/metal shoulder rims and cuff accents.  Each time she turned around on the green carpet we viewed the graceful open back detail on the dress as well as the thigh-high side slits (no thermal undies spotted !). Cate carried a white matching Givenchy clutch bag and sandals. Her hair was done up in a simple chignon bun. Simple, graceful and futuristic in tandem. The elegant Aussie stole the limelight and wooed the crowds. All in all a great night with some dazzling celebs.

Look out for FashionThirst's up and coming feature articles - it's winter in Europe and we all book vacations to sunnier climes our next featured articles will be on bikini designs from Miami and of course for the party season we have 'On point trendy party dress of the month' .

Agent Provocateur Cordeliyah Kimono

Agent Provocateur’s 2012 Christmas gift guide features some sumptuously sensual and sensational pieces.

The ultimate indulgence this season is the Cordeliyah Kimono (pictured). At just a mere £1950 ($3141), this kimono is heavily embellished with lace trims and beading, baring more than a hint of a Christmas surprise. However, if this is somewhat out of your budget, there are tempting treats a plenty, which include the Red Passionate! range, featuring a deliciously red festive colour palette.

Agent Provocateur has also released a ‘Gentlemen’s Buying Guide,’ which holds the hand of the bemused other half to help ensure a successful shop and guarantee some gasps of appreciation come Christmas night.
