Busardi’s SS15 collection ‘Air’ had a lot to live up to after its London Fashion Week debut was a hit with critics last season.
The prêt-à-couture label, based in Bangkok, took its audience on a journey inspired by diverse landscapes and microenvironments of South America in its highly anticipated show. Taking place in a Georgian mansion in Mayfair, the venue, just like the collection, perfectly encapsulated the ethereal beauty for which the brand is known.
Using a palette of earthy powder shades, such as dusky pink, grey blue and nude, ‘Air’ is a delicate collection for the strong archetypal Busardi woman. The element of oxygen takes centre stage, with floating hemlines and transparent layers creating a new, modern femininity.
Soft ostrich feathers on cocktail dresses and evening gowns transformed models into resplendent eagles gliding down the catwalk, while the label’s signature use of embroidery, lace and appliqué enhanced the laissez-faire vibe of the collection.
Celebrity fans include Mis-teeq star Su-Elise Nash and celebrity stylist Lewis-Duncan Weedon, who were spotted on the front row.
