Now you may be wondering what Marc Jacobs has in common with an Electronic/R&B group from California and it goes back to the commonality between Jacobs and the group’s mutual interests of popular street culture infused with music and fashion. “Marc Jacobs has always represented the progression of youth culture as well as highlighting his infatuation with the street, and his brand has influenced music and fashion,” said Logan.
The group debuted their new tracks from their album BuckWildNite. Songs like “Hype Williams” have been named after the music video director that frequently works with Kanye West, Missy Elliot, Pharell Williams and Jamie Foxx to name a few. The group wants to speak on popular culture and this song in particular discusses the millennial fascination of narcissistic behaviours and perfectionist tendencies.
